Peri Peri African Chicken


  • ¼ cup paprika
  • 2 tbsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1½ tsp chopped fresh ginger
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • 4 bone-in chicken breast halves


  1. In a large bowl, stir together the paprika, SIDS CRAZY SALT, chilli powder, lemon juice, garlic, ginger and salt. Rub chicken with the mixture, place in a dish and marinate for 3 hours.
    Preheat a grill. Place chicken onto the grill and discard the marinade. Cook for about 30 minutes, turning occasionally, until the skin is slightly charred and juices run clear.

    History: Piri piri  also called African bird's eye chili, is a cultivar of Capsicum frutescens, one of the sources of chilli pepper that grows both wild and domesticated. It is a small member of the Capsicum genus. It grows in Angola, Uganda, Malawi, South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, the tropical forests of South Sudan & the highlands of Ethiopia. It was brought to Goa, India by the Portuguese.
