Baked Beans

Ingredients

  • 500 g dry haricot beans
  • 2 tbsp rice bran oil
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 kg canned tomatoes in juice
  • 2 tbsp SIDS SMOKEY GARLIC SAUCE
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp SIDS RASPBERRY VINEGAR

Directions

  1. Soak the beans in plenty of cold water overnight. Drain and rinse the beans then place in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to the boil and simmer until the beans are tender, approximately 1-1½ hours. Drain the beans and set aside.
    Heat the oil in a large pot and add onion, garlic and sauté until soft and golden brown
    Add canned tomatoes, SIDS SMOKEY GARLIC SAUCE, sugar and SIDS RASPBERRY VINEGARBring to a simmer and cook gently for approximately 30 minutes then remove from heat and allow to coolBlend tomatoes to a smooth sauce and mix tomato sauce with cooked beans.
    Heat to serve or freeze in portion sized containers for later use.
